Ferro mono-antimonide, FeSb

By heating iron and antimony together in a crucible alloys of the two metals, Ferro mono-antimonide, FeSb, in varying proportions, have been obtained. Laborde concluded, as a result of studying the density and specific heat, that a compound, Fe3Sb4, is formed; but Maey, from an examination of the specific volumes of the alloys, concludes that the compound formed is more correctly represented by the formula FeSb.
