Nickel ferrocyanide, Ni2Fe(CN)6
Nickel ferrocyanide, Ni2Fe(CN)6.Aq., is bluish green in colour, stable towards chlorine water, but oxidised to brown ferricyanide with bromine water.
On boiling with concentrated hydrochloric acid, the acid salt, NiH2Fe(CN)6.3H2O, is obtained. The following ammoniates have been prepared: namely, Ni2Fe(CN)6.5NH3.4H2O, and Ni2Fe(CN)6.7NH3. |
