Ammonium ferri-disulphate, NH4[Fe(SO4)2]

Ammonium ferri-disulphate, NH4[Fe(SO4)2], is prepared by heating a solution of ferric ammonium alum with sulphuric acid for some hours. It is a white crystalline powder, sparingly soluble in water.

The potassium salt, K[Fe(SO4)2]H2O, is obtained in a similar manner.
