Ammonium tetrachlorferrite, (NH4)2FeCl4

Ammonium tetrachlorferrite, (NH4)2FeCl4 or FeCl2.2NH4Cl, is readily obtained by concentrating a mixed solution of the constituent salts. It is slowly soluble in water. The solution is reduced by zinc at the boiling-point, depositing metallic iron.
