Ferrous thiocyanate, Fe(CNS)2

Ferrous thiocyanate, Fe(CNS)2.8H2O, is obtained by dissolving iron in an aqueous solution of the free acid. It crystallises in monoclinic prisms, and is readily oxidised by exposure to air.
